 “War Against Myself” Art Show

What is normal to one may be unusual to another, the way that a person represents himself could differ from how they are perceived. “War Against Self” is a unique visual response of representational paintings by emerging artist Will Watson. This exhibition artistically expresses the notion of self worth as it pertains to Will and his life experiences, it is a visual response to his understanding of the world within his reality. The idea of conflict, relative to the internal and external battles of understanding one’s purpose and self worth is an experience that we can all familiarize and connect with.  –Indigo Wakatama

*A MESSAGE FROM WILL:

Peace and blessings to you!

War Against Myself is about all of our internal and external battles
we fight in everyday endeavors of life. I categorized the art work
into three subtopics: ME vs. ME , LOVE vs. LUST, and THEM vs. US.

My goal for this show is to ignite intellectual conversations from the
themes and images you’ll see. These images tell the stories of the
issues I deal with in my life and I know connect and resonate with
moments in the viewers lives as well.

My hope is to leave my audience INSPIRED…

I hope to be a catalyst for a change in the way people view other
people, their own personal lives, and the world. Upon leaving the
show, I want people to feel empowered to do anything they set their
hearts and their minds on doing, to take nothing in life for granted
and to NEVER STOP DREAMING!
